Alfa Laval AB has been selected by Saipem S.p.A., the EPC contractor for Stockholm Exergi AB's BECCS project to supply heat transfer equipment for one of Europe's largest bioenergy carbon capture facilities. The project is expected to begin operations in 2028 and will capture, liquify, and permanently store up to 800,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, representing approximately one to two percent of today's total global carbon capture capacity. Alfa Laval AB will supply its Ziepack gas-gas interchanger alongside multiple process plate-and-frame heat exchangers, crucial for maximizing system efficiency and heat recovery, and integral parts of the core capture process. The equipment package has been selected by Saipem S.p.A. as part of its EPC contract for the Stockholm Exergi AB BECCS facility. Alfa Laval AB's technologies will contribute to the efficiency of the carbon capture process and support the project's ambition to become one of the world's largest facilities for the capture and permanent storage of biogenic CO2.
