HORNBACH Baumarkt AG will open six new locations in Germany in spring 2027. The insolvency of Hellweg has created opportunities to serve even more people and support their projects in the future. Together with further planned openings in its established European countries, HORNBACH is thus set to approach the milestone of 200 DIY megastores over the coming years. As part of the negotiations, agreements were reached to take over stores in Ahrensfelde, Berlin-Köpenick, Dortmund-Kley, Essen-Borbeck, Freiberg in Sachsen, and St. Augustin. The transaction remains subject to review by the German Federal Cartel Office and court approval of the insolvency plan. The stores are scheduled to be taken over in early December 2026 and converted into HORNBACH DIY stores with a full project-focused offering. The stores will reopen in spring 2027. On September 11, HORNBACH opened its 16th DIY and garden center in Austria in Graz-Liebenau. A new specialist flooring store will open in the Netherlands later this year. In Serbia, construction work is underway for several new HORNBACH stores.

74Software announced an internal legal reorganization aimed at better aligning the Group’s corporate structure with its portfolio company strategy. 74Software SA will remain the listed parent company of the Group, overseeing strategy, capital allocation, portfolio management and governance across its portfolio of software businesses. Axway’s French operating activities, currently housed within 74Software SA, as opposed to the Group's other business activities, which are organized as subsidiaries, will be transferred to Axway SAS, a wholly owned and currently inactive French subsidiary of 74Software SA. This internal legal reorganization is intended to improve the clarity of the Group’s structure by more clearly distinguishing 74Software SA’s role as the listed parent company overseeing the Group’s software portfolio from the operating entities dedicated to the Group’s business activities worldwide. It also provides a clearer and more flexible framework to support the Group’s future development and the potential integration of additional software businesses over time. The transaction will be carried out through a contribution of the assets and liabilities relating to Axway’s French operating activities to Axway SAS. In consideration for this contribution, made at book value, Axway SAS will issue new shares to 74Software SA. The transaction will not involve any cash consideration. This reorganization is a purely internal operation. It does not modify the Group’s strategy, consolidated scope, shareholder structure, stock market listing, governance or financial objectives. It is also not expected to have any impact on the day-to-day conduct of Axway’s operations, customer relationships, product roadmap or employee working conditions. The employee representative body consultation process has been completed. The completion of this reorganization remains subject to confirmation by the AMF that no buyout offer is required under Article 236-6 of its General Regulation. Subject to this confirmation and the final corporate steps, the transaction is expected to be completed before the end of October 2026, with retrospective accounting and tax effect from January 1, 2026.

Prevas, together with Alleima, has developed and verified a machine vision solution for automated quality control of tubes. Using camera technology and AI-based image analysis, the solution can identify surface defects directly in the production environment and provide operators with effective support in their quality control work. In this project, Prevas and Alleima have explored how machine vision and AI can be used to make quality control of long tubes more efficient. Previously, inspections were carried out manually, with operators visually examining the surface of the tubes. The new solution captures images of the tube surface as the tube rotates and moves through the production line. Up to 1,000 images can be captured for a single tube. The images are analyzed in real time by an AI network trained to identify specific types of defects. The installation at Alleima is a pilot project that has so far focused on verifying the technology’s ability to identify defects under real production conditions. At the same time, the results highlight opportunities to develop the solution further.

Ashtead Technology Holdings Plc (LSE:AT.) is looking for acquisitions. During the Ashtead Technology H1 2026 Results Presentation, Allan Pirie, CEO, said, "We continue to make strategic progress through the first half. We're building an increasingly sophisticated and diversified business through a unique portfolio of equipment and services and global footprint to serve the global offshore energy industry across the full life cycle of subsea infrastructure. We acquired Seadraulics, creating a strategic footprint in Australia to accelerate growth in that market. We consolidated 3 U.K. Mechanical Solutions operations into 1, creating a global center of excellence to better service our customers, and we continue to build out good capability, investing GBP 25.9 million in technology for the long term." "There are growth opportunities to expand our service capabilities across both geographical and end markets. Survey and Robotics will continue to benefit from increasing customer propensity to rent. Significant opportunities exist to expand our mechanical solutions capability by internationalizing what we already have. We are continuing to make progress building out our U.S. capability, having opened a facility in Houston last year, and we took possession of the new mechanical solutions facility in Norway yesterday." "We continue to cultivate these type of M&A opportunities, which act as catalysts of change to better support our customers." Allan Pirie further said "The opportunity that we're most excited about around M&A is consolidating what is a super fragmented mechanical solutions market. So that is building around capabilities that we've already got, infilling and scaling those, but also expanding the capabilities beyond what we currently do. So we started that process by buying UCS back in 2019. So that was to move into the decommissioning space. So we bought a business that was very much focused on the North Sea, supplying diamond wire saw shear pumps or shear cutters and dredge pumps. The natural next step was to acquire Hiretech, which was a key supplier, supplying back deck pumps for powering the subsea equipment. We then had the opportunity to acquire ACE Winches for their lifting pooling deployment capabilities. And that really creates a package that no one else is providing, but there are multiple opportunities to acquire businesses in the adjacent space that continues to build out that capability. So we feel that there's a very logical process to build out something of far bigger scale in Mechanical Solutions".
