Lola debuted with a new membership offering that combines personalized recommendations, live availability and pricing, direct booking, preferred rates, and benefits. Lola brings discovery and booking into a single experience for hotels, restaurants, events, and more, while providing access to rates and benefits traditionally reserved for loyalty programs and premium cardholders. Unlike AI assistants that stop at recommendations, Lola is designed to take people from “What should I do?” to “I’ve booked it.” Members can ask Lola for anything from a hotel or restaurant to an event, activity, or an entire trip. Lola’s launch partners include ResX, BLADE, Aero, SeatGeek, GetYourGuide, Nuitee, and Ten Group, alongside Booking Holdings brands including Booking.com, OpenTable, KAYAK, Priceline, Agoda, and FareHarbor. Lola searches for real-time availability and pricing so members can compare options and book directly through the same conversation. It understands requests in natural language, carries context through follow-up questions, and learns what matters to each member to make future recommendations more personal. Paid plans provide preferred hotel rates, priority dining, airport services, premium transportation, and live concierge access. Search results and recommendations are objective and unbiased, never influenced by vendor payments, featured placements, advertising, or sponsorship. Anyone can become a Lola member for free, with access to conversational discovery, personalized recommendations across multiple categories, current availability and pricing, and direct booking on Lola. Members who want more benefits can upgrade to Plus for $5 per month or VIP for $25 per month, each with a 12-month commitment. Both plans add preferred pricing and benefits through Lola’s partner network, including hotel savings, priority dining, airport services, and concierge support. VIP unlocks Lola’s highest level of benefits and access. The structure gives members a choice in how much they want from Lola, while keeping personalized discovery and booking available to everyone. Lola’s membership benefits are designed to support the different ways members use Lola, from choosing where to stay to deciding what to do and how to get there. Hotels: All three membership plans include KAYAK’s comprehensive results from hundreds of travel sites. Through Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, and Nuitee, Lola Plus members receive preferred hotel rates, typically saving 10% on qualifying hotels. VIPs receive Lola's best hotel rates, with savings of up to 15% at four- and five-star hotels worldwide. Dining: OpenTable provides VIPs with complimentary Gold status and priority dining benefits. ResX gives Plus members two days of advance access to sought-after reservations, while VIP members receive Premium status with five-day advance availability. Live events and activities: SeatGeek, GetYourGuide, and FareHarbor give Lola members access and preferred pricing on more than 200,000 experiences worldwide, including sporting events, concerts, museums, and attractions. Premium airport services: VIPs receive access to $150 BLADE airport helicopter transfers to and from New York City. Aero provides savings on first flights, with Plus members receiving $300 off and VIPs $400 off. Personal concierge: Ten Group, the global concierge and lifestyle management company, gives Plus members quarterly access to a personal concierge and exclusive amenities. VIP members receive more extensive access to personal concierge and amenities each quarter.

Families from Massachusetts affected by a deadly fire at a vacation rental in Barahona, Dominican Republic have filed a civil lawsuit in King County Superior Court against Expedia Inc., Expedia Group, Inc., HomeAway.com, Inc., and VRBO Holdings, Inc.Case #: 26-2-30948-5 SEA. This trip was meant to be a joyful family getaway and a chance for three generations to return to the Dominican Republic, the country of their birth, with the highlight being the christening of two young children. Instead, in the early morning hours of June 13, 2026, a fire engulfed the family's vacation rental. Four people died, including a five-year-old child, and other family members suffered severe and lasting injuries. The lawsuit alleges Defendants did not employ filters, warning banners, interstitial screens, or other meaningful point-of booking safety notices to alert travelers when a listing disclosed it lacked a smoke detector. The Complaint also alleges this is not an isolated problem. VRBO continues to list thousands of accommodations for rent that it knows - because hosts have disclosed to VRBO - do not contain any smoke detectors. Forty days after the fire, Plaintiffs' counsel conducted searches of VRBO listings in multiple Dominican Republic locations and found that the vast majority of available properties did not list smoke detectors, indicating approximately 80% of listings reviewed were "potential death traps" with no smoke detectors. A follow-up search found that approximately 66% of listings reviewed still lacked smoke detectors.

Expedia Group announced a marketing collaboration with Redion, marking the first time a travel insurance and assistance brand has joined Expedia Group Advertising as a dedicated partner. Multi-year partnership opens a new advertiser category for Expedia Group and gives travelers earlier details about travel protection across its brands. The agreement opens an entirely new advertiser category for the company and reshapes how travelers encounter protection options during planning and booking. The addition reflects the accelerating expansion of Expedia Group Advertising beyond its traditional base of hotels, airlines, and destinations. Redion's arrival extends that trajectory into travel insurance and assistance, a category that sits at the intersection of both worlds. For more than 15 years, Redion, formerly known as Europ Assistance worldwide and Generali Global Assistance (GGA) in the U.S., has provided travel protection to Expedia Group customers. This collaboration moves that relationship beyond product distribution into a strategic advertising alliance, with co-branded editorial, on-platform experiences, and targeted activations rolling out across Expedia Group brands beginning in Third Quarter 2026. For travelers, the shift means that Redion can now cohesively appear throughout the traveler's journey to maximize brand awareness and peace of mind.

Booking.com collaborated with 9 partner hotels across the U.S. to offer experiences that reveal how well companions handle the moments that can make – or break – a trip. The Turbulence Test stays are customized by each property for limited-time stays beginning September 14, 2026. Booking.com commissioned new research to reveal the top travel "icks" among American travelers. The company also partnered with Dr. Jess Carbino, a relationship expert and renowned sociologist, to unpack the findings and explore what they reveal about compatibility on the road. Participating properties are offering an exclusive, limited-time package on Booking.com that comes with a physical Booking.com Turbulence Test Kit. Partners will challenge each other with a travel-themed conversation deck, "Would You Rather?" dilemmas, "Red Flag /Green Flag" speed rounds, and a blindfold for taste tests, before wrapping up with a survey to get their official compatibility verdict. Paired with property-specific additions like resort credits or local excursions, it's the ultimate way to see if you're truly travel-compatible. Lotte Hotel New York is offering a package inclusive of $200 F+B credits. Nova Hotel Brooklyn gives guests the beloved hotel amenity of late check-out. Hotel Zephyr San Francisco sets the scene for a playful stay, with Skywheel Tickets, late check-out and an all-time favorite S'mores kit to be enjoyed in their courtyard. Circa Resort & Casino - Adults Only is offering a package that includes a $50 beverage credit, complimentary 1-hour late check-out and a Legacy Club glass of champagne, among other extras. Westgate Resorts is providing 2 tickets to onsite Treasure Island Water Park, a $50 resort credit, 2 bicycle rentals and complimentary mini-golf. The Elser Hotel pairs city and bay views with a range of amenities and a "305 Challenge" – a Miami-themed couples game where you divide up vacation decisions across the stay: one picks the pool spot, the other picks the drinks; one chooses the restaurants, the other books the reservation time. Legacy Vacation Resorts Kissimmee gives guests plenty of space to unwind, while customized compatibility challenges and a Make Your Own Cocktail amenity add something a little different to the stay. Legacy Vacation Resorts Lake Buena Vista + The Fold Orlando allow partners to enjoy their Make Your Own Mocktail kit between park hopping.
